It is a metal soap (generally called as metallic soap) of Cobalt. Cobalt octoate 10% derived from double decomposition of sodium salt 2- ethyl hexanoic acid and cobalt salt

 PRODUCT APPLICATION AND FEATURES

This is a primary drier. It is an oxidation catalyst and acts as surface drier.
It accelerates the catalytic action of Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide to polymerise unsaturated polyester resin. In combination of other octoates or napthanates this is used as a drier in paint industry.

 PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

Appearance   Clear and Red Violet Liquid.   Viscosity @30º C (B/4 cup) 25 sec.max for 10 % metal content. Specific Gravity @30º C 0.98 + 0.03 for 10% metal content. % Metal Content 10.0 + 0.2 Solubility Soluble in White Spirit, Xylene, Styrene

 SHELF LIFE

When stored in a tightly closed container, below 30ºC, the product will remain within our specification for a period of six months from the date of manufacturing.
